2003 Chevy Malibu Car won't start

Any suggestion as to what the problem could be - I was driving and then the gas pedal felt loose and then became stuck to the floor - and the car just shut down. I can't get it to restart. It won't turn over, it makes no noise - it just won't start. What is wrong? Thank you for your help.

Check the throttle boby for any broken cables or springs.
