Electrical problem
2003 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Car has an antiteft device suppose to have been factory installed. No idea of ehere it would be located. The problem is twice now it has caused me problems starting the car. I was told by a friend to tun the ignition on for a while then off and back on. That worked but this last time I had to leave the ignition on for over a half hour. before it worked. I'm wondering what else to do and maybe it is just a coincidense that it started?

Basically, you bypassed the system by leaving the key on. However, it should have done it within 10 minutes. The only thing you can check is to see if the key is the problem. The sensor in the key could be bad, so try a different one. IF it still doesn't work, the only thing you can do is take it to a dealer. THey are the only ones that will have the proper test equipment. I wish I had better news, but that is the fact.
If you have other questions, let me know.
