2003 Chevy Malibu 4 cyl Automatic 94000 miles

My car had been idling for a while and then my boyfriend checked the oil with the car on. Soon afterwards in the front of the car it just started spraying. I'm pretty sure it was spraying water because it didn't leave anything on clothes and then it started smoking white smoke out the back. What could be the problem?

First of all, you should never remove the dipstick while the engine is running.

Does this smoke have a certain smell to it? If it smells sweet, it's coolant.

However, removing the dipstick would not cause the vehicle to smoke at all, so you got another issue here.
