I'm trying to replace the rear hub assembly on our Malibu. I've removed the wheel and tire, brake drum, ABS sensor wire, and the four bolts holding the hub assembly. Now how do I get the darn thing to come out?

These hubs freeze onto the backing plate, they are tough to get off, what I do is hit the hub flange with a hammer on each sit and walk it off, that about the only way. These suck to do. Use wd40 and spay it real good and keep hitting it, the baking plate will come off with it, then seperat the backing plate from the bearing. Post back if this works.

There was no room to swing a hammer at this thing except in the wrong direction. The solution turned out to be a slide hammer. Attached to the wheel studs, it did the job.
