I have a 2002 Malibu that idles smooth and runs well at high throtle but misses badly and has no power in between. The transmission shifts wierd also.
Codes said bad EGR valve and thermostat, coolant level, or coolant sensor error.
We replaced the EGR valve, coolant sensors, flushed coolant system, replaced spark plugs and a short vacuum line that was visably colapsing when reving and its still doing the same thing though slightly improved.
The coolant reservoir had a slightly oily content but no water in the engine oil.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated
