We are replacing the brake booster and need to know if we have to remove the fuse box, and what is the easiest way to remove and install it. Thank you

1. Remove air cleaner assembly. Move master cylinder and underhood electrical center forward just enough to clear power brake booster studs, being careful not to over-flex brake lines. Remove electrical center mounting bracket. 2. Disconnect vacuum hose from booster check valve. Under instrument panel, remove nuts securing booster to firewall. Without putting undue sideways pressure on push rod, tilt booster slightly to work push rod off of brake pedal. Remove booster. Installation To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Adjust brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS. NOTE: Power brake booster can be removed without disconnecting master cylinder brakelines. If both components are to be removed, remove master cylinder first.

BRAKELIGHT SWITCH Insert brakelight switch into retainer until switch body is seated onto retainer. Pull brake pedal upward against internal pedal stop. Turn switch 90 degrees clockwise in order to lock switch into position. Switch is now adjusted. Ensure brakelights do not stay on with brake pedal released. Brakelight switch should open at 0-.078" (0-2.0 mm) of brake pedal travel, measured at centerline of brake pedal pad. Inspect brakelights for proper operation. NOTE: Adjust brakelight switch and cruise control release at same time. Adjustment procedures for brakelight switch and cruise control release are identical.
