More often than not, I've been experiencing high idle when I first start my car and sometimes when I shift from drive to park or neutral. I've already had the computer flashed and the idle air control valve replaced and still have the problem occurring. Also, I think that this is also tied to my car accelarating on its own. What's wrong with my engine and is it fixable?

Im sure it is fixable, might not be th eengine though, more likely sensor related since it sounds like it is intermittent. Have you had the PCM scanned for codes? does the check engine light come on while driving? A faulty/shorting coolant sensor can cause a high idle, is the coolant level full?
