2001 Chevy Malibu gas gauge

Want to know why my gas hand is not working, its not an digital screen gas hand, just the regular hand version that wont move when I put gas in the car.

A lot of times it's a problem with the fuel gauge sending unit in the fuel tank itself. Sometimes it's a wiring issue between the fuel sender and the dash, or a problem with the dash itself. But my best guess at this point would be the sending unit in the tank.
