I started the car today, no trouble at all. Then it dinged in a chime-like sound. Four, then one. My son said it was a service alert. No lights on the dashboard, no trouble starting or driving. After about five minutes, the chimes stopped. I went to the store, parked, came back, no trouble, no chimes, no service lights on dash. Everything appears normal. Any idea what, if any, trouble I'm looking at?

Hello, I'm Danny.

It's possible it could be a maintenance reminder light that was alerting you. Just to be safe I would perform a CAN- Controller Area Network scan to check all the systems on your car. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved on performing a CAN scan:

After performing this get back to us with any codes that may have been stored and we can then help properly diagnose. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
