I have a 2001 chevy malibu that surges for no apparent reason up hills. It is fine everywhere else except for the hills. The rpms will surge up and down between 2000 and 2500 and when you top the hill it will quit. I have owned the car for about 2 years and it has done it the whole time. I would just like some advice on why it may be doing this.

Hi there, have the coil check as it may be breaking down under load, have you have the fuel injectors serviced?

This I can't tell you, as am in Australia my prices will be of no value to you. You will be able to get a firm quote on this type of job on the phone, I would try that first.
