PLEASE HELP MY 2000 MALIBU LS TRANSMISSION
SURGES IN OVERDRIVE AT APP. 50-60MPH. IF I
PULL IT DOWN TO THIRD IT STOPS. DOES ANYONE
KNOW WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM.

OMG, Mine is doing the exact same thing! Same make, model, and milage. I hope you get a response soon on how to fix it. We've already nwasted $300 trying to find out what the problem is.

Your problem is a bad spark plug or spark plug wire. When in od at approx 50 mph with foot lightly on gas is the most stress on the ignition system and is the first sign of your car needs a tune up. Replace spark plugs with ac delco plugs and also replace the spark plug wires, I dont care what kind of wires you use just use ac delco spark plugs. Let us know how you make out
