How involved is it to repair the front brakes yourself and how expensive?

That depends, do you want to just replace the pads?

Or do you want to replace the rotors, pads, caliper?

I think just the rotors and pads. I won't know for sure until I get it apart.

You can get rotors for 40 bucks a rotor if you go cheap and brakes for the front end run 20-30 bucks for a cheap set, left and right side.
