2000 Chevy Malibu fuel pump

Driving and the gas light came on put gas in and it showed full then 30 seconds later it drops to empty it goes to full everytime I start it but 30 seconds later it drops to empty its a 4 month old fuel pump.

If fuel pump is good then could be faulty intsrument cluster or faulty PCM. Would need to use diagnostic scanner to perform fuel gauge sweep test. If gauge sweeps as it should then cluster is good.
