My car recently experienced a flood due to the November Nor'Easter. The rising of the tides caused salt water to get into my car. The floors on all sides were soaked and puddles of water accumulated. The puddles were not that large and the seats remained dry, so I assumed that the water got through the doors. I tried starting the car and no response. The electrical panel on the drivers side no longer works, meaning I cannot use my power locks, windows, or seats. The power control to move the seat has smog surrounding it so i assume that there may have been an electrical fire. I hae no experience whatsoever with cars so I really need help as soon as possible!

I've got the same problem. I thought my car would be safe in my garage, but it took nearly 30 inches of water that night. I had it towed out of my garage to my mechanic's shop, been there since. They have it running but they're getting smoke from under the dash and the fuse panel. Spoke to him today and they're gonna try to power wash the fuse panel and all the wiring harnesses under the dash with clean water. He told me that they tried that with a Toyota and it worked out well. Keeping my fingers crossed (both hands). Good luck to you, I'll let you know. Milton.
