1999 Chevy Malibu theft system

My car will not start and the theft system light is flashing. It will reset after about 10 minuets but this can be troublesome at gas stations etc. Before it would only happen once in a while but today it has happened 3 times. Any ideas to why and how to stop this?

Check the owners manual for the procedure of how to reset the VATS system. It may need to relearn the key resistor pellet, for reconition.
