why would my 99 malibu start up fine then withn a few minutes just shut off,then wont re-start for several minutes after?

is there a check engine light on. may be a possible pass lock sensor going bad. is there a security light on

yes it's on check engine,but everything else seems fine,just the check engine light.

have it scanned ofr trouble codes and get back to me
