1999 Chevy Malibu 50000 miles

Hello.

My 1999 Malibu (I bought new in 1999) brake light and alarm beeper intermittently comes ON, especially when I first drive it in the morning. They will then go OFF for some time, but come back ON for another random-length period. These changes usually occur when I am making a turn. After I drive the car for some time, the problem goes away.

I have alreadly taken it to several mechanics, including the dealer, and none can figure it out. I have also tried to research it Online and through several car repair manuals, still no luck.

I am beginning to believe that no one is competent enough to solve this most annoying problem.

I am pulling my hair out over this. Please help.

Thanks. John wizguru@jjwill. Com

Hi:
Don't laugh, but has anyone checked the brake fluid level and if so the sensor that indicates low fluid?

Thanks for your response. Yes, one of the first things we did was check brake fluid level. A dealer mechanic later told us that the brake peddle was bad and needed to be replaced. Since the cost was extreme, we had him just simply disconnect the beeping.
