1999 Chevy Malibu Fan Blows Full Blast

1999 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi,

Everytime when I start my car the heater fan blows on full speed (even if the knob is turned off). After a little while it will stop, and then I can control it with the knob as normal. What could cause it to come on, eventhough the knob is off, upon start up?

sounds like the blower resistor is shorted causing your concern. disconnect it and see if the fan turns off. it is located by the fan it self
