Engine Performance problem
1998 Chevy Malibu 4 cyl Automatic 140000 miles

My 98 chevy malibu has been having some problems idling. When i stop at a light or just slow down fast, it dies. When im at low speeds it seems to choke until i give it some gas in neutral. It starts just fine, restarts after dying just fine. I replaced the oxygen sensors both before and after the cat converter. Someone keeps telling me to replace the fuel pump, cause it seems like its going out. Its a 260 dollar part that i just dont want to spend on it if i dont have to. I was also told the IACV, Fuel pressure regulator, and the sensors. Dont really know. Im kinda at a loss and dont want to keep replacing parts that are not faulty. The check engine light will come and go, never stays. Thanks for your help!

I'd take the throttle-body off and give it a cleaning, make sure all passages are clear. I wouldn't consider the pump without using a gage and checking fuel pressure.
