what is a fly wheel and how much does it typically cost to repair?

flywheel is mounted to the end of the crank shaft in the bell housing. used to keep the engine rotating due to inertia between piston firings, also used for crankshaft position sensor information and being used to start the engine.

you will have to look around for prices check out summitracing.com and jcwhitney.com or jegs.com for more performance parts and some cheaper ones. depends on what your looking for
