1998 Chevy Malibu engine

Check engine light is on and blinking and car seems to be sputtering when I accelerate. Just replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter.

Did you replace the igntion cables? Most likely thats the problem. Also look at the tops of the coil towers for rust and clean them when installing new wires. The flashing light means there is a terrible misfire and 99 percent of the time its caused by a combination of a bad spark plug and a bad spark plug wire. Hope this helps
