1998 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 64000 miles

My car needed a intake gasket. That was fixed then my husband put new lifters and rocker arms in it and it still has a clattering noise, what else could it be.

does he have the push rods in the correct valves. short ones go on the intake and the long ones fo in the exhaust valves
