1997 Chevy Malibu shuts off

1997 Chevy Malibu 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My car will start and drive for about ten miles or so, seems like just long enough for it to heat up a bit and then it just shuts off. It will not start right away, but if you let it sit it will start again and repeat the process again and again. My dad has looked and worked on it and cannot figure out what is wrong with it. Do you have any ideas of what it might be?

First of all thank you very much for your donation.I would suspect you have a bad crank shaft postion sensor or a bad cam shaft sensor.Let's start with this though go to a auto parts store like autozone and have them read your codes and bring me back the numbers.Also do you have a plain malibu or do you have the LS model let me know.
