1997 Chevy Malibu Ignition switch

My key would not turn in the ignition so I replaced the switch. Now it won't start and the anti theft or alarm is lite up! This is a question my neighbor has requested.

Turn the key off for a few minutes. Crank the engine real quick and see if the security light starts blinking. If it does, dont touch anything. Wait until the light stops blinking. When it does, turn the key off for ten seconds, then try to start it. This will reprogram the Pass lock system
