1979 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

HI

I need to replace my Blower Motor for the AC system
but the Blower Motor that I have now install is
ACDelco part: 5049592
which is not the part number that my car was design with, now on the site that I order parts that is www. Rockauto. Com they have 3 models that should fit but they don't know what will fit and what are the difference between them and for that I need your help

the models are:

ACDELCO Part # 1580666 {PRESS-ON #158541, 19131214, 52466092}
MOTOR, BLO(W/IMPLR) w/o A/C or H.D.C.

ACDELCO Part # 1580213 {PRESS-ON #88959521}
MOTOR, BLO(W/IMPLR) w/A/C

FOUR SEASONS Part # 35345
w/o AC; w/ Wheel; Use when replacing a one terminal motor

of course that I can order the part that I have now install that is for a new model but I think that there is a difference between the models and the motor that I have now is not as strong as original motor that was
design for my car

the problem is that I can't find on the net any specification for any of the model so I don't have any way to know if the horse power of the motors are the same or different.

so place help

ACDelco part: 5049592 is for the model year 92-96

your car: Integral A/C & Non A/C; 5049592, 52460703.

52466092 is the year:92-96 non AC s
they all aftermarket, original should be at the dealer.

Hi

I know that what I have now if from a newer model
but you didn't answer my questions.

1. Is this new model has the same specification as the
original motor?
2. If I do want to order an original motor the one
that my car was design with what part number do I
look for.
3. If the new model any my original are the same
one what wil be the best to buy a motor from a
new model or to buy the original if I can find one
that is new

also you say that I need to buy it from a different source so my problem is that I am from Israel and here the local and only dealer that is U.M.I don't have any parts for my car and they don't even want to order for me. So my only way to get parts is to order them direct from sites on the net.
Now I have made a very big orders from the rockauto. Com site and they are very reliable so way you say that I need to order this part from a different place.
Also if I am asking I am looking to buy a new Starter for my car but I can't find any place that will sell me a new one and not remake.
So if you know of a place that I can order new one or if you know what model of new cars use a starter that will fit my car them any help will be wonderful.

Ok, I got the information you requested,
the orginal part number for the blower motor on 1979 chevy malibu 6 cylinders with air conditioning is :
22 02 09 45.
GM doe not make that part anymore.

Any model from cars newer than yours cannot have the same specification as the original part of your chevy malibu but can be a substitut.

Your second question: according to the dealer, any blower motor of any chevy made in 79 can fit in your chevy malibu.
Aftermarket companies go after the year to offer the parts.
The parts from ACDELCO, FOUR SEASONS, ROCAUTO will fit for your car.

The answer apply also for your starter, only aftermarket starter for chevy made in 79. Will fit your vehicle.
Maybe some junckwards can still have original parts but it is no guarranty it will work.

Hope your questions are answered.

1. The part number you give me for the blower motor is only for the motor without the plastic fan
and I what to buy a blower motor that has all the parts and not only the motor, so there must be also part number for all the unit and that is what I need

2. As for the starter you didn't gave me any parts number that will fit my car not new or old and this is also an info that I need if I will look for parts.

3. I have also ask you abut a software that U.M.I has that show all the parts and there number and if you know where can I get it (pay for that of course) as it will help to answer all my questions.

so I want to buy this software that they use so I can find myself what is the parts number I need for every part in my car.
I was also told that it can be on a book but ether it don't extant on the INTERNET or I don't run the right search string as I can't find any book or software that has all the parts numbers for my car
so can you help, maybe ask your local dealer if the software they use can be purchase, as this is for an old car and I really need this info as it will help me a lot.

Yes, I went there, to the dealer, and ask them the software they use. They told me that the software is supplied by GM. For a GM car dealer, but they did not want to give me the name of the software.
Sometime peoples are not corporative.
I think it is link directly to manufaturer database.
You must be a dealer to get access.
Sorry I couldn't help more, but if you have questions, let me know.

Hi

I just what to say thanks for your help as i have found the software i was look for here:

http://www.o2epc.com/General-Motors-spare-parts-catalogue-epc-electronic-book-3.html

and you can also find info in this site

http://www.compnine.com/index.php?t=1&year=1979&majorgroup=10&supplgroup=NULL&catcode=10A&modelcode=A&makecode=C&grouptype=B&modelid=6415&uid=1

the only problem is that they use 2 software one is the one you see in my first link and it has all the info on the car and the parts number for every part second software is a software that are connected to Gm mainframe and there you can find if you have a part number that is disconnection you can find what it the new part number that are sill in manufacture.
so now i have only part one if what i need as 99% of the parts for my car don't extant any more but new cars has the same parts only with a new number so what i can do now is if i need you help to give you the part number i have and you can ask the local dealer what new parts number will be replacing this number and that is a one that i can find and order.

in any case in the site that i have found the software you have all the softwares for all the big car vendors so it is a good site
