THIS 3.8 ENGINE HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL FOR A WHILE AND NOT SURE IF ITS THE MAIN SEAL OR NOT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THESE PARTICULAR MOTORS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR DEVELOPING A LEAK THAT WILL APPEAR TO BE A MAIN SEAL BUT IS ACTUALL, I BELIEVE THEY SAY ITS AN O-RING OR SOMETHING ALONG THAT LINE.

There is a paper gasket that seals a plate to the rear of the engine. This plate also houses the rear main seal. The gasket is a very common leak point. You will need to remove the transmission to access the plate.I recommend replacing the rear main seal and oil pan gasket if you are changing the plate gasket.
