2001 Chevy Lumina Drain plug

Engine Cooling problem
2001 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I'm about to flush and clean the cooling system. I need to know what tool i need to loosen/remove the drain plug. Also what would be the best way to clean out the overflow reservoir (there's some nasty stuff in there).

There's a stopcock in one of the lower corners. You can open it with a pair of pliers or maybe even your fingers. The overflow reservoir can be removed and flushed with a garden hose, but it might not clean entirely.
