Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1999 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I think I've got a failing CV joint on the driver's side axle of my 99 Chevy Lumina. I thinking about replacing it myself and just wonder how hard it will be and how much time it will take. Thanks.

take off cover over the nut for the hub center nut. from there with vehicle on the ground loosen the nut. then break the lug nuts and raise vehicle and remove them. then the tire. from there remove the tie rods and ball joints and use a puller to remove cv axle from the wheel bearing assembly. from there pry the end of the cv axle off of the transmission. The axle has come completely out apart but it is Definitely Separated from Transmission
