The car starts ok, will pick up some speed and get out of the driveway but while I'm on the road I can stomp the gas pedal and it will not seem to get any response from engine, but it will occasionally "catch" and give power but then becomes unresponsive again. Gets power fine in 1st, 2nd, but not in drive.
