my wife was running 70 mph on the interstste and the car just shut down and she pulled of the road and i went up there where the car was in tried too start it but it would turn over but would not start

if it lost compression then most likely the timing belt or chain broke. if compression is good then check for fuel pressure and healthy spark at plugs.
