1999 Chevy Lumina ignition cylinder

my key turns freely, no resistance. There was problems with it being tight, I think something snapped in the cylinder. If I get a replacement cylinder can I find one that will work will my key, as I have the PASS II anti-theft, or do I need to take it to a dealer and over pay to have them fix it?

I hate to say it, but you need to see the dealer. They have to reprogram everything to recognize the new code / key / ignition.
