1999 Chevy Lumina Idols low

The engine idols low then comes back up the goes back down to where it almost cuts off. Changed the icd and still doing it. It acctually cut off today

Well, the check engine light is always on and off, its a '99. But I did have it turned off and it is back on.

If the light has come back on, there is a code stored in the computer that will help identify the problem. What to do is take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket for you. Let me know what you find. Ask them to tell you the code and its meaning.

I did do that already they said it was the idol control thing which I replaced, as well as checked the other recommendations given from autozone. I am still experiencing the problem. After it is driven for awhile it eventually stops but when you cut the car off and crank it again it starts again.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Also, what all have you done?

I dont know how to check the vacuum. And im not sure right now what the other things were check someone else check them
