Transmission problem
1998 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 110000 miles

does a 1998 chevy lumina, 3.1 with automatic transmission have a transmission vacuum modulator? The car is using transmission oil and no leaks, the antifreeze tested OK!! Some one told me it could be the vacuum modulator sucking oil into the engine!

yes a vaccum modulator certainly can suck oil into the engine and burn it. do you notice white exhaust? if so i would definetely suspect the vaccum modulator for failure. remove the vaccum line from it, is there trans fluid in it? if so replace.
