Engine Performance problem
1998 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 220,00 miles

The engine has begun to run rought. No problem ideling but it begins to sputter when accelerated. I recently replace the fuel filter. Would the problem be the PCV valve needs replacement? It has not been replace for at least 100,000 miles.

Could be PCV, but could be many other things as well. A new PCV won’t hurt; it’s cheap, and takes two minutes to replace so you might as well do it. By the way, do you have any code?
Other possibilities include:
Bad MAF
Bad TPS
Bad MAP
Low fuel pressure
Problem with ignition system
Dirty injectors
Problem with EGR
Vacuum leak
