Hi I have a chevy lumina 98 with 86000 miles on it
from last couple of weeksi am facing some problem with transmission
when the engine of my car is cool it runs fine but when the temperature reaches upto normal it jerks the first gear only and secondly when im driving at a constant speed like 50 mph and I want to go for more speed it changes the gear from 4th to 3rd than 3rd to 4th it happens for 1 or 2 secsthan it changes and if I am at 50 and I pump the gas harder it doesnt happens it only happens when you want to increase speed gradually
i took my car to 3 tranny specialists and all of them said there is no mechanical or electrical fault in my car
1 said change the whole tranny but if I dont know the exact problem how can I change the tranny

Hi, there is a cable that goes to your throttlebody it is connected where your accellerator cable connects there is a lock that you push down to release so you can adjust this cable.

Adjusting this cable actually adjust the throttlevalve pressure, which adjust the shift pattern this cable should be checked for binding or fraying. Other then that you can service the trans. New filter and fluid

good luck billymac

Hi if the fluid is clean and red filter is ok.
The coils or wires will cause jerking, but usually not just in first gear. If you have old wires yes I would do a tune up. And any shop can adjust the throttlevalve cable and check it. Good luck billymac

i changed my gas and now the prob is I guess 70% finished first it was happening quite often now it doesnt happens until you really want to do that?
I got my car checked and coil towers have some white spot in them so is that mean its bad?

Hi if burnt spots on coils or white spots wires are bad. It should only cost a half hour labor to adjust cable. But if gas changed anything won, t be the trans. Replace wires billymac
