This is an off-and-on problem for the past 2 years. And, it is now getting to the point where it just makes the car useless.

The Brake Switch for "getting the automatic transmission out of PARK" was replaced recently.

Problem - when I press on the brake pedal, and then
put my fingers on the Transmission (on the floor)
lever (button) - to take the transmission out of PARK,
the "button" on the Lever will NOT "go in" - and therefore I am not able to take the transmission out of PARK.

The problem has been there for about two years - and the service dept at my dealership just can not get it to "STICK" -- so, they changed out the switch (at my request) - as just a long-shot .. but, ever once in a while the #$$#@&& thing (button) STICKS
for me - and I am literally STUCK ..

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance guys!

When this happens, do the brake lights work? I realize that sounds like a crazy question, but it is relevant.

Let me know.
