1998 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 170.00 miles

ok this is what i did. i did a head job all went well but i was cleaning the lifters a one was stuck so i took everyone apart & cleaned them. dont worry all push rods lifters & rockers went back to were thay origianl place. so any how when i cleaned all the lifters then i soaked them in oil for 24hrs put the engine back togather & thghtin all bolts to spec now the engine sounds like a deisel what did i do wrong?

Check the timing it sounds like the chain is off by a tooth or two, is it low power? Check the compression, if it's a bit low, recheck your timing. The other possibility is if the timing is good, check the oil pressure, it could be low. Top ends is the last to get oil...
