Air Conditioning problem
1998 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 115K miles

It is very hot in this area and I noticed that my AC starts out blowing hot air and cools just a bit after running for awhile. Do I need freon or has to be put thru a diagnostic to check compressor

may just need freon but would have to check the level first with a gauge.
