how can i reset the check engine light.

Before resetting check engine light should scan it for codes
as it may be something it need to be addressed soon
check engine light can be reset by using an OBDII reader ,scanner
disconnecting battery terminal for a few minutes will reset PCM and codes
if light come back on you should have to get the codes and fix it

You need a scantool to do it or take it to autozone and have them clear it. Don't attempt to disconnect the battery you gonna run into problems-
