1997 Chevy Lumina TEMPERATURE GAUGE

My 1997 Lumina, why does the temperature gauge goes up to the middle then back down? the low coolant light comes on and sometimes the temperature light come on. I also don't think my engine fan isn't working

Sounds like you are low on coolant and also may need a fan relay...and a thermostat if coolant level is good...
