1997 Chevy Lumina 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 128000 miles

While starting my car this morning(at 0 degree weather) the car started fine but it did not shift into gear easily. While driving there was a whistling type noise as I accelerated and acceleration was lacking. If there are any suggestions you have I appreciate anything. Thank you so much.

the cold can cause alot of problems. you should always allow your car to reach operating temp before you pull off especially on very cold days.
