1996 Chevy Lumina V8 Front Wheel Drive 168k miles

car runs great. intermitten surge after warmed up sometimes worse than others, less over 60mph. kick into passing gear usually stops it. not noticeable while on cruise control. quite often at low speed. fuel pressure checked,filter replaced, injectors purged, maf sensor,maybe? new plugs and wires.

tune up? first thing to check is the coil towers, where the plug wires plug on to coil, are there any burnt spots? this is where i would look first.
