1996 Chevy Lumina Steering Rack removal

1996 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello,

I would like to know if it is necessary to dorp the cradle in order to remove the steering rack.

Yes rear needs to be lowered front bolts loosened not removed. Need to secure engine with support fixture.
