1996 Chevy Lumina Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi I have a 96 Chevy Lumina (car) it is leaking gas ONLY when I pump it.. What could this be? Is it an easy fix? Does the tank need to come out? It leaves huge puddles when filling but never leaks otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is a steel fillre hose where you fill the tank from. It attaches to a rubber hose then to the fuel tank. Chances are either there are rust holes in the steel, or the rubber hose has been damaged or a clamp has come loose. Check those things and let me know what you find.

Note, if it is one of these items, the tank shouldn't need removed.
