hello. My compressor (ac) will not start all of the time.
i charged the system with freon. And it will work while the car is running. I turn the ac off wait 30 sec, or so the compressor will not restart. Sometimes it will sometimes it wont. (Only when my wife is driving it wont work!)Ha ha. Sometimes when I rev up the motor it will start.
i can tap the clutch on the compressor and it will start.
is there some type of relay switch for the compressor.
or do you think I just need to replace the compressor.

the freon is full.

Hi there,

First check the voltage at the compressor clutch, if it is 12V constant and you can get it to pull in with a tap, I would be thinking that the clutch itself is faulty, these can be replaced with out removing the compressor in most cases, but there is a special puller needed.
