1996 Chevy Lumina 96 chevy lumina, flashers and interior li

Every time i open one of the doors on this car the flashers and interior lights will begin to flash and the chime will begin. It only lasts for about a minute. I can start the car and it runs fine while it is doin all of this. Tried using key to lock and unlock door but hasn't worked. It started doin this after the battery went dead. please help!!!!
