my 96 lumina has power coming out of the r/cmpt rel fuse block but still no power to backup lights and remote trunk switch.

Check Orange wire to trans range switch. Both sides of the fuse show no power? I sent a wiring diagram of trunk release circuit to help you trace the wires.
