ok so i have a 1995 chevy lumina with 102800 miles on it. i just replaced the water pump and thermostat along with other things. when i run the car for a long period of time or i go over 50 mph my check engine light comes on. sometimes the thermostat will go up but then it will regulate by itself. so far i have smelled a few smells coming from my vents like burnt popcorn and rotten eggs. can someone please give me some advise on what to think??? thanks!

If its coming from a blown headgasket it will overheat in 5mins.

Get the cooling system block and pressure tested
