Electrical problem
1994 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Automatic
this van will crank but won't start. We replaced the fuel pump, spark plug and wires, and the ignition coil and it is still not firing. What else can stop it from firing?

Do you have the 3.1 or the 3.8 motor in your van? The 3.1 was used in a little over half of the vans so it could be either. Easiest way to tell is to look at the motor and see if the air filter is on the top with a round on or if its square and at the end of the air line by the grill. My 3.1 lumina van had th same problem. Tured out to be the ignition control module. On the 3.1 it is under the distributor cap. It is a little black module with 2 sets of wires clipped to it and is being held down by two screws. Advanced can test the part for you. Make sure if you take it off that you buy some dielectric grease for it when you put it back. If you have it tested have them run the test more then once. Sometimes it will pass when the module is cold but show fault when it gets hot like operating temperature.
