If the check engine light has been on, I need you to have the computer scanned for codes. When the light comes on, a trouble code is stored in the computer. Take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store. Most will scan for free, so there will be no money out of pocket for you. Also, then you will know what is most likely causing the problem.

THe temp sensor can cause a driveability problem. Make sure the wiring is good to the switch and it is making a good connection.
